We are a church that acknowledges Jesus Christ as our Shepherd, who has entrusted a plurality of Elders who lead our church.
We are also a congregationally ruled church which means that our members have the opportunity to vote on churchwide decisions and projects.

Our History
Emerald Hill Community Church began as an outreach ministry of TEAM (The Evangelical
Alliance Mission) in 1988. What began as a mid-week gathering of believers in house groups
took shape as the church held its first Sunday service on the 4th of February 1990 at the
Gateway Primary School in Emerald Hill, Harare.
Use of the Gateway School facilities in those early days was no accident. The Board of Trustees
of the Gateway Schools had held a keen vision to see the establishment of a local church
operating out of the school premises. They felt that a local church ministry would complement
their desire to see the school programme serve as an evangelistic outreach.
Increasingly, the vision of the emerging church, of TEAM and of the Gateway Trustees merged
into one shared desire to establish a vibrant, outreaching, local congregation to the glory of God
Almighty.
What We Believe
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, in their original writings, are the fully and verbally inspired word of God. They constitute the supreme authority in all matters of faith, life, and conduct.
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is sovereign in creation, providence, revelation, redemption, and final judgment. The Lord Jesus Christ, in accordance with the Scriptures, died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice. All who believe in Him are justified by faith on the grounds of His shed blood. Those who receive Him by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
Redemption from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin is solely through the shed blood of the incarnate Son. The justification of the sinner is by the grace of God, through faith in Christ alone. We affirm the virgin birth, the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into Heaven, and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, and indwells believers, working in their lives to guide and transform them.
Every believer shares in the priesthood of all believers. We hold to the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The church universal is a spiritual organism composed of all who, through faith in Christ, become part of the Body of Christ. The local church, as a visible manifestation of His body, has the responsibility to provide fellowship, edification for believers, and to proclaim the Gospel of Christ to the entire world.
